Conclusion:

Wiz ended up doing about 700 ...[total to 2024 update 900+]... Paid sales but over several years, so in comparison CyberPunks 2 has done very well in a much shorter amount of time regards Paid sales at least.

No probs. There have been a few more CyberPunks 2 sales since I typed that earlier today Maybe I will update the total of those sales in several months time perhaps.

As a side note, Wiz (CD32) and the Mutation Gold Compilation (CD32) have both sold not too bad either.

Cheers.

So you're not getting filthy rich, but are at least seeing some return for your efforts which is good to see.

Should encourage others that if they put the effort in, whilst no-one is going to be quitting their job anytime soon, but as a hobby income, its not bad.

That's totally about it in a nutshell. I treat it as a hobby and it's not a job by any means. You can get a nice new toy out of it, but after all the physical side deductions and post etc. It's not much in ratio to the input to make the game no. I just like the act of creation mostly.

Gives me something to do really when I'm not maintaining other software or doing DIY around the house etc. As my wife says, keeps me out of trouble and off the streets

Cheers

Well done Adrian. Definitely enough there to make it a worthwhile hobby. Maybe I should treat myself to it, though I should probably give the first Cyberpunks a proper play first.

Congrats, I'm always impressed with how much work you put into your games. I was wondering if you've ever looked into the possibility of wrapping your game in an emulator and then selling it on Steam or GOG etc? I'm not sure if it's legal with the Kickstart ROM's involved or if licencing could be worked out. It just seems like a great way to expand the audience for Amiga created games if it was possible.

He could bypass kickstart with using the AROS replacement.

If his games kick out the system in boot up then other than boot routines, no need to use any kind of kickstart

Just had a look and the game seems to work fine with the AROS rom.

Thank you. Yes I try to recreate the games like they were produced back in the day in many respects to the best of my ability anyway.
I have been approached once before regards wrapping the games etc., but have not looked into it in any real deep way, due to time spent just getting the games out on Amiga / CD32 primarily to be honest.
I am at least thankful these days for the advent of the Amiga 500 Mini which is a great little additional variant to publish for also.

Cheers

Interesting. Do you know if this has ever been done, has anyone ever tried to sell an Amiga game wrapped in an emulator on Steam etc?

Pretty sure some of the Piko releases are precisely that, Amiga versions wrapped in an emulator.

I'll treat myself to CyberPunks 2 at Christmas. Your games are truly top class and authentically 90's.

Sadly not The few ones I own are the DOS version running via DosBox.
