If you want to see the animated intro insert Disk 3 first.

Here is my first go for Team Lemon, I'll put it up on the lemon page when it appears

Whoops! Sorry. I copied all the links over from the original Superfrog thread from January 2009 in the naive assumption they would still work.

Fixed now, thanks!

No problem.

A cool game, reminds me of Sonic The Hedgehog in many ways, right down to the hidden paths. Though it does steal a few tricks from the various Mario games - invisible platforms and blocks to hit from underneath.

Not doing too bad for my first few playthroughs (150K, 500K and 650K), but theres an awkward bit on the third castle level that I'm currently stuck on (that slippery slope after gate 3 which leads straight into the spikes!).

I settled down for my first run through this evening and the game locked up on me during the first castle level

Not at all pleased but at least it happened reasonably early on rather than at a later stage.

The level designers were really evil with this game in places. I finally made it past the castle levels (I learned how to float/fly)
Oh, and the invisible platforms I mentioned in my earlier post are actually the large clouds found in some of the first few levels

Unfortunately, a combination of heat and running out of time made me lose a few lives at the end of the 3rd circus level (platforms that go in, whilst trying to avoid the shots from the guns). Still, for my 2nd day of playing this game I think I'm doing pretty well

Yeah, it's one of those games where the levels are quite large; which makes it difficult to remember what to do at every blind spot and drop point (of which there are many!). Ruff had two or three leaps of faith - superfrog has quite a few more - the difference being that in Superfrog you get the chance to fly out of harms way. I've learned to leave a pair of wings and a 'blob' handy in case I die.

I got to 4-4 with at least five lives, probably much more.

This is the bit where, above the spring there are some spikes to the left and very slightly further to the left there is a Lucozade, with a temporary platform and 4 bats.

I moved over the get the Lucozade, missed it, didn't think I hit the spikes but might have hit a bat, but lost a life anyway and fell down to the spring below.

I then got the game over message even though I had plenty of lives left?!?

The only thing I can think of is that at the exact same moment I ran out of time and that ends the game even if you have lives left.

Edit: It's the bit at 1:21:00 [ Show youtube player ], I suppose it's very possible I ran out of time.

Yes, I think you just ran out of time and that's normal. I had also forgotten that you can actually ran out of time and then had wtf moment when I was peacefully exploring for new secret places on one level

That's a bummer. I don't understand why they don't return you to the start of the level if you run out of time, why end the game completely?

Even more annoying, I literally needed just another quarter of a second, I had made the spring jump, was level with the Lucozade and moving towards it when I died. What luck

Since it's not against the rules and I was absolutely clueless as to where there might be another secret area I had a look at these levelmaps: http://hol.abime.net/2223/gamemap
Found a new secret area each in the levels 4-4 (worth a lot of points), 7-2 and 7-3 (both few points worth though).
The one near the start of level 4-4 I would never have found on my own. I also lost quite a few lives trying to open its entrance.

There are only six worlds in Superfrog. How come you made it to the seventh?

Well, I count "Project F" as stage 6-1 (the only world having only 1 stage).

I had a look at the pictures I think I knew where all the spots were on the first 3 worlds. There were some in world 4 I had been in before but had forgotten about. In world 5 there were 1 or two spots I had forgotten about and in the space station I had forgotten about all of them.

I couldn't seem to get into any spots shown on the 7-3 level map.
