What's wrong with Strider 2 Amiga version? It's little too hard, that's all.

Tiertex...

I just love when they reuse the exact same palette and sound fx for mercs.
They must have been like the Chinese sweatshop of arcade conversions.

Go look at the Megadrive/Genesis version, and then reappraise the Amiga version.

Tiertex were absolutely shocking when it came to doing Amiga stuff, and I've yet to see a game by them that was written specifically using the Amigas hardware.

Would be logical to assume that the credits for this 'game' are also for the original Strider as well.

And Dennis, I have never agreed with you so much as I do now.... 'shitty-bollocks'....... couldn't have put it better myself!

MegaDrive version have worse music and probably sounds too. I remember those two games from past, maybe that's why I like them.

A very nice sequel on that system.

The Tiertex hall of shame:
http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...eloper=Tiertex

So many good arcade games and so many poor Amiga conversions UN Squadron was probably the best out of those for me but the SNES conversion (more of a remix) was absolute class

Strider megadrive is using 64 colors and a 512kb cartridge.

Tiertex has no excuses !

Strider Mega Drive is a 8Mbit cartridge, matey.

btw: the Sharp X68000 Strider is awesome too, nearly a pixel-perfect arcade port.

Uhmmm... Alien Storm was missing things and was quite jerky.

U.N. Squadron was TOTALLY jerky (And slowed down by just shooting) and had a lot of pretty bad graphics conversions.

I believe Mercs was their only nice work, at least the one with a nice scrolling.

U.N Squadron is shit compared with the slightly enhanced SNES port.

We should track own those tiertex ex employees and ask for rationale about all those 5h177y conversions! I really don't think is deliberate bad work rather bad tools, excessive crunch time and a "put the money first in a disposable market" attitude from Management
