Unfortunately, Vampire is unlikely to get anything other than ports of PC games, emulators (probably 8bit only), and such like.
Anything original will likely be written in Backbone, which will perform like an A500 but use most of the CPU available. |

Backbone? Probably Hollywood is more like it. Truecolor is available on it, after all.

neither that is exclusive. but catching up is a good start. porting games leads eventually to understanding how to write apps. not that i expect anything special, but witn vampire the genuien amiga isnt that much worse than derived folowupps.

Holy shit, that's the stock IDE port?
That's like a 3 or 4 times speed up. I have v2 in my a600 and can't wait for the new core with this speed up to be released. |

I can't wait until they release the standalone Vampire (ie complete system in FPGA)

Hi there! I've been disconnected for a long time from the Vampire accelerators, does it actually offer any kind of AHI support via HDMI? It's the killer feature I'm looking for to make the step and buy it.
Cheers. |

As with so many things Vampire, prioritisation may change if somebody is willing to support the project by contributing software and do some testing. I know for sure that a sine wave was transmitted via the digital video output as a test for the video subsystem. This means that the groundwork has already been made. But with so many different things in the works and limited development time available some things just don't get much attention.

I wish i had enough knowledge to help with the project but it's not the case, by far
Is there a way to support them economically? Thank you for your kind answers! |

For most of the development, the problem is not money. By mass production and clearing the backlog of orders, team members get boards to do the work with. Then the rest comes naturally.

Back to topic.
First, here is a quick video I made to demonstrate current GOLD3 WIP : [ Show youtube player ] Basically, we are now showing native Amiga chipset over HDMI. Then, here is a quick and dirty screenshot of SimCity2000 AGA running on Vampire (yes, AGA is around the corner ;-) ) |

How does this fit in with things like the Parasite? If everything is done in the FPGA, is this still needed?

Parasite may not be needed once gold 3 core is ready.
