Paul Woakes

I was happily playing Encounter again and wondered what the author, Paul Woakes, did after that?

Yes - I did see that actually! But it was 1991. That's getting on 20 years ago now. Just curious as to what some of the talented 80's game developers are working on these days.

Legends of Valour 1992

Looking at the net, around 1994 either he died or worse became a manager

WHERE IS PAUL WOAKES!?

Is he the Lord Lucan of classic programming?
Has NO-ONE heard of him recently? Is he dead?

The last reference to him was some work on a ps2 game in 2002...

The Mercenary fans of the world need YOU!!
CAN WE FIND PAUL WOAKES?

I read somewhere that paul woakes developed the Novaload system that just about every 64 game used on loading...( the flash coloured screen on loading) but a company nicked it off him so when he got rich he bought the company out for revenge !!

How true that is i dont know...Its a good story though and if true ...GOOD ON HIM !!

And wikipedia does not mention Legends of Valor for Amiga ? ....he had a hand in developing the 3D engine for that as well
