You can play it on any hardware that it will run, if you have an AGA machine the Whdload version will be less hassle to get running.
The game does benefit alot from faster CPU, so if you have one use it! |

At which game speed do you play, Michael? I suppose the measured time is real time, right? Or is time measurement slowed down if you play at "slow"?

EDIT: Can i ask what speed (in the game controls menu) are you all playing at? It appears that this setting has an adverse effect on your time! (i know im a dick for not testing before hand) Can everyone play at the "Fastest" speed setting please! I have added this to the rules, there are still 2 weeks to go so plenty of time! Last time I played mostly at "slow" and "normal".
Thanks in advance for the testing. |

I couldnt imagine playing a whole game on slow.
Can you try fastest let me know what you think, it should make it much more enjoyable to play. |

Thought it'd probably be too difficult at fastest (especially if you haven't played it before). I'll give it a try.

When I first started playing Command & Conquer (Saturn) I always played on "slow". Once you get the hang of it (shouldn't take too long) then play it on a faster speed. Regards, Lonewolf10 |

Yes, used slow to get accustomed to what does what in this game. The above run was already at fastest speed. Michael's hints are effective...

Just tried to nip over to Lemon to check the scores and, er, I couldn't. I keep getting redirected to random sites for some reason.
In the meantime if anybody from Lemon wishes to post their scores here then feel free to do so. |

Weird. Still can't get on, and same thing happens for Lemon64 as well
But thanks for checking and hopefully it will be sorted out for me when I get home from work... |

I think Dune2 is problematic in competition because you can cheat with only using in-game options. For example the game speed discussed here. If you are attacked by flying units and you have defense rockets then you should select "very slow" for destroying them early. Atreides its sonic tank units are also affected by game speed (faster = longer shot range). If you paly harkonnen and fire rockets you should save before and reload if necessary.
Reach a high score: My experiences is that you just have to destroy as much buildings/units as possible. Give your opponent as much spice as possible so he can build more units. Play last level for best possible score. With ony spice cheat I got about 2500 points but that is boring. Win as fast as possible (boring): I know how but maybe it is better for the competition to don`t tell. |

Of course it is, it's nonsense to be playing this. It's a joke. But I suppose technically it does work and you can cheat at most games anyway, even through the in-game options and making life a bit easier for yourself. But it's a bit late to be changing it now so we'll just go with how we've finally decided how it should be played (well, I didn't, I've got nothing to do with this so don't blame me).
