I scan it in the newsagent for any Amiga references. I rarely buy it as I don't have much interest in retro console gaming.

So apparently the Amiga Book is only on sale in larger WHSmiths stores. Unfortunately, I have no idea what WHSmiths class a big stores as I don't work for them. It may explain why some of you have been unable to find it in your local branch.

Whilst I don't claim to be 'most members', I have EVERY issue of Retro Gamer...

And, despite a lot of The Amiga Book being re-printed/recycled material, I still enjoyed reading it. All the articles together, rather than spread separately through (in my case) hundreds of magazines, is useful!
I have the Megadrive/SNES & ZX Spectrum/C64 Bookazines too, for the same reasons.

Here in Portugal i bought mine this weekend and a few others were bought by a few friends in local shops.
I was afraid that it never reached our soil but it did

Wow it can reach Portugal, but not 20 miles down the road in the smaller WHSmiths...what it is going with their distribution!?

WHSmiths buy a set amount and then decide where they sell it. It's gone out to all the usual distributors just like all our other books do, which is why it's now appearing overseas. Maybe smiths felt that a book solely based on an old computer would only sell in their bigger stores. That's a Smiths decision though, not an Imagine one.

A revision merely with spelling fixed and some minor changes would make the current The Amiga Book pretty much redundant and a waste of money... would be kind of unfair really inmo



It would have to be a Volume 2 with new (broader Amiga) content to make sense...



I ordered mine online as the small town I live in barely gets the tech magazines I like let alone RetroGamer lol the postage to Australia was more than the book (as usual)

I was a little disappointed that the focus of the book was mainly on the A500......I guess there is scope for releasing a 2nd book further down the line to cover the AGA machines.....

I looked at the 500 because compatibility meant that you'd have been able to experience most of the games featured. I'm sure a second book will be in the works and that will also include pieces on the CD32 and Amiga 1200 at least.

Had mine in the mail a few days ago (Germany) and like it a lot. If you haven't read the original articles from Retro Gamer, I'd say it's a must buy for every Amiga fan.

That had them at Tesco Extra Peterborough, not sure where in Cambs you are.

managed to track down a copy at last in a small town WH Smiths, bizarrely there's been no sign of it at all in the city centre store near me yet there were 4 copies in the store in a town 20 miles down the road!
