Right, so the general consensus is there's not much that can be done with just software to speed up disk access. Maybe it was just the placebo effect I was experiencing many years ago regards faster disk loading.
I use ReOrg on most of my backup disks anyway so probably that's the best I can do, or just use WinUAE on 800% floppy emulation speed. |

but based on my experiments not much - AFAIR limit was around 30MHz for SYSCLK but for disk written with higher speed this limit should be approx twice higher but still way bellow 50%.
