CDTV control issues

I've noticed that Winuae has some issues with certain CDTV titles when using the keyboard to control the cursor/pointer/whatever. I guess this is somehow related to the CDTV pad being specificly used in those titles. I could best describle the problem as the result of plugging a joystick to a mouse port and trying to move the mouse pointer. Such titles include Shiftrix and Lettrix, Logical and some others I can't remember right now.

These titles work if one uses mouse as a controller, but then again the game might not be planned to be used with a mouse which makes playing rather difficult. After all, using the keyboard is a lot more like using the CDTV pad.

I don't know if this is a known issue or addressed before, but at least I couldn't find anything through a search.

I guess those games require cdtv pad in mouse mode?

CDTV has extra hardware that converts pad up/left/down/right signals to mouse movements.

WinUAE does not have separate CDTV-pad setting. (at least not yet)

Perhaps it could automatically setup numpad keys to "mouse", like in cd32 mode it adds default red/green/blue/yellow/fwd/rwd/pause numpad buttons but on the other hand CDTV keyboard was much more common than CD32 keyboard, overriding some keys only confuse people..

Ok, thanks for the info.

I suppose all I can do now is wait for the feature to be added.
