Turbo Tomatoe Request

Can someone please upload this to the Zone. I remember playing a demo of this great Psycho Pigs UXB clone a while back. Cheers

Firstly: "great" ? I'm flattered !

Secondly: demo ? The full game is public domain, though it was never 100% finished and is known to have some problems on 060 machines. AFAIR the last version I released was complete apart from, I think, the end game "you win" sequence and possibly the final boss.

I'll get the full version from my Amiga later and upload it to The Zone, unless someone else has it handy.

HDF version in The Zone: everything is the same except all of the data files have been packed now and the HDF is a bit easier to use.

I tried it on an A1200-020-2Mb-3.1 config, but it should work on a 1Mb chip A500 config as well.

FWIW: my brother, who did much of the graphics for TT, tells me he's going to do a Windows version now! Probably cut down and much more along the lines of the original Psycho Pigs, but with the TT look.

Might as well add this game to HOL I reckon, especially since it was going to be commercial at one point. Girv can write a nice note about it. What do you think John?

BTW is this you? John Girvin in HOL.

Might as well add it, I guess. IIRC the original intention was to make it commercial, but that sort of changed to shareware-ish as time wore on and now I'll give it to anyone who asks for a few kind words It should also appear on the coverdisk of a forthcoming issue of Amiga Future.

Once every couple of months I get an email about it ... maybe I should get off my a**e and finish it eh?

That HOL link is indeed me. I did English texts for Imperator and got paid one bottle of Calvados. Good times.

Turbo Tomato added to HOL, you are famous!

Feel free to suggest changes if there are any mistakes, I assume you and your brother are both from Ireland but wasn't sure about your musician.

Paul Branney was from Scotland, no idea where he is now.

Also the game is two floppies and does work from CD / HD.

Otherwise

Imperator? I think I 'cracked' that one, it was crunched with a password!

You're right, I didn't notice that. It probably seems like a small thing to our international readers but here in Northern Ireland, the prefix is quite important

Well personally I think it's wrong to list the country as "United Kingdom" when that is not a country at all, but a collection of countries! At least Ireland narrows it down from the possibility of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.

As Obelix says, "these romans are crazy" and that's what I think about the whole UK name - a fiasco! There is no anthem for the UK, teams for the olympics walk in under their own country etc etc...

As another EAB member from Northern Ireland I'd have to say that the "United Kingdom" is correct. It is a country and is the correct political entity for the HOL list. It could be conceivably be broken down into UK (England), UK (Scotland), UK (Wales) and UK (Northern Ireland).

Using Ireland for Northern Ireland in the HOL doesn't really make sense as it would be mixing geographical and political entities. On a related note, "Great Britain" is a geographical name (additionally used politically) to refer to the larger of two main islands rather than being a statement of the country's brilliance.

The UK does have an official national anthem of "God Save The Queen" (not the Sex Pistols one!). I like the song "Rule Britannia" which can also be heard in the Ultima games.

Indeedy.

United Kingdom is the short name for:

"The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" so UK is correct.

The British Isles on the other hand include all the little itty bitty islands that aren't part of the UK But that's another story.

What would appear in HOL if a coder was from Jersey?
