New products for C64 and Amiga from Individual Computers

1time: Probably because I confirmed it on a1k.org. The ACA1220/1232 base board is equipped with Etron memory chips, and they are slower than the Winbond memory chips that I've used on ACA1231.

I thought it was a reasonable deduction from the clocks printed on the PCB. At 40MHz's it's going to be hard to push it past the ACA1230/56 if nothing else. I still want one for the memory tho. Decisions...

Out of every credit card purchase, a percentage (up to 5%) goes to the credit card company - "the bank". In Europe, most credit cards work like the American "Debit cards" where you spend however much you're allowed to, and it's taken from your account with a monthly bill. I stopped using all credit cards over 5 years ago. I have a Debit card, as you almost have to own at least one Credit, or Debit card to do some things today, like rent a hotel room, or make reservations for some things, plus many more that I can't think of at the moment. I don't know how much money I have saved in not paying any Interest to Credit card companies, but I am sure it is a significant amount.

You can see it from the business-side: why should he build a card, which has way more memory and more speed than an existing product? Nobudy would buy the ACA1231 anymore. Not quite intelligent, eh?

Well it all comes down to a price
If he builds a faster card, he can sell it for more money.
People who don't want to spend so much would still buy slower and cheaper cards.

I'm not so sure the ACA1231 will still be in production at the time he releases the ACA1232. As stated the later model also uses slower memory, most likely a cost reducing aspect, perhaps to try and contain costs, as the memory size doubled. The entire truth is for Jens to know, and the rest of us can only speculate.

On a slightly different point: I noticed Jen has changed his original post on the price range from 70 odd euros to the new price of 89 euros!! Surprisingly 89 euros is roughly £71 odds!!

Please read the original posting again: It describes different accelerator products that are in the making:

ACA500: 79,90 EUR
ACA1220: 89,90 EUR
ACA620: 99,90 EUR
BigRam+: 99,90 EUR
RTC upgrade for A1200 or ACA1220: 19,90 EUR

I have not edited any of the prices. Maybe a misunderstanding on your side?

I've noticed that A500 cpu card has a 68000 cpu, could it be at least 68010?

Reason for that is WHDLoad, with 68010 quit/exit keys works.

I belive that 68010 is as easy to find than 68000? I might be wrong though.

The CMOS 68000 is a lot easier to find at good prices. Further, the quit key is working on most of the titles even without a VBR-move. It's only a few titles that really need the VBR moved, and you will be able to use them if you decide to spice up your A500 with a small A1200 accelerator.
