I asked him and he said that the timing is correct. So it looks like we have strong candidate here.

Face Another Day II is indeed a tune that must be played in vblank mode. Not sure why he made it like that. Maybe the song was made specifically for the Noiseless music disk and that vblank mode was a requirement.

EDIT: I disassembled Dizzy Tunes II, and the replayer sure enough is vblank based. This means that all the other tunes by Jogeir in that music disk are also vblank based. Though they play fine in CIA mode too.

I actually believe it was fairly consistant, except for very early PT versions (Funk Repeat instead of Invert Loop on EFx) and PT3.x (several changes to sample triggering, 9xx quirks removed etc). That's all I am aware of, at least...

Yes, only small differences. If I remember right (I could check but too lazy ) PT 2.x and 3.x differ in using command Axy when using note number or not. And there was something with commands used and later a parameter was "hold" or not for the next command.

There's no impact only for the following cases : 'mod.underwater', 'mod.attributed horror', 'mod.signia' and 'mod.oro incenso'. The other musics are not played correctly if they are not set in vblank.
mod.the wanderer : 6'55 instead of 7'01
mod.mixified : 5'31 instead of 5'36
mod.guitar slinger : 9'34 instead of 5'01
mod.out of silence : 10'54 instead of 7'30

I've marked those I've identified as "must-be-played-in-vblank" with a tag. You can see it here this very prod :
http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=10138

Material I've identified so far:
http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/search...about&music=on

So, it's quite rare and I think this should be noted only as a curiosity

Alright, I stand corrected. Especially "out of silence" is getting severely broken if you play with CIA timing.

Though, "guitar slinger" is not 9'34 if played with CIA, how are you calculating these times? It's 4:59 (CIA) vs. 5:00 (VBL) when I use the PT2 clone w/ MOD2WAV. OpenMPT also shows 4:59 (CIA) vs. 5:00 (VBL).

Right, OK, I tried PTK 2.1a ... it's 9'. Well, I tried yours then and it's 9' too
I'm sorry I assumed the correct version was around. It appears it wasn't. So, here's the correct unaltered file : http://amp.dascene.net/modules/J/Jog...r%20slinger.gz

The one on modland and linked in Kestra prior to this post was "fixed" ... *geee*

Ah I see, that explains it. I tried the .pp one from the actual music disk, and you're right.

it's not the longest song (21:59 minutes) but More Than Music by Alcatraz was interesting as it split his music into 2 modules
