Amiga A3000 rev 7 Jumpers settings

hello guys,

Im having dificult to setup correctly A3000 Rev 7 25mhz PAL machine.

If I set Agnus to jumpers 1-2 I get NTCS instead of PAL, if I set to 2-3 I get PAL.

Strange things according to BigBookofAmigaHardware ( http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.co...uct.aspx?id=22 ). For a 25 MHz PAL
313311-03 should be set to pins 1-2 to get PAL video, or I'm reading that incorrectly?

If I check pictures of motherboard rev 9 ( http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.co...00rev9_big.jpg ) the PAL settings are 2-3.

Also other strange thing, is the speed of the machine when I test it on Sysinfo. Saying the machine is slower than A600 but detect all chips, ram and cpu's speed correctly (25mhz).
I have enable all data caches but less the CBACK.

By editting Startup-sequence, I added the instruction CPU databurst datacache fastROM.
I'm running Amiga Workbench 3.1 and added Better Workbench 4 ( http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/BetterWB.htm ).

I also tested without the instructions to enable Cache and MMU, and get the same issue.

In terms of hardware I have 2mb chip ram, 9mb fast (1mb static collum ram + 8mb zorro 2 - Masoboshi MC702), no accelarator.

When I installed WB3.1 and BetterWB the machine was still set to NTCS, that might influence the speed Im seeing now?

There is also other jumpers I didnt touch (cpu / fpu, roms speed jumpers), having the same config like rev 9 picture.

Regards,

The definitive guide (pun intended) is written by Calum Tsang titled "Commodore Amiga 3000 Hardware Technical Notes Revision 2"

I've zoned it.

If you need to view it online then use http://www.taws.ch/WB.html it's not perfect because it doesn't use monospaced font.
