2mb Pcmcia Sram Memory Card

I've seen these for sale on t'internet with reference made to the A1200. I've read through some of the posts on here regarding PCMCIA but (due largely to my complete lack of knowledge of such things!) I can't really figure out IF these devices would work as RAM. Would some kind, knowledgable fellow please inform me if;

1.) A PCMCIA card can be used as RAM and if the Compootah would recognise it as Fast or Chip?

2.) Are there other options for memory expansion for my A1200 that won't cost me too many pennies? I can't stretch to a Blizzard accelerator thingy with a wedding fast approaching.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm not sure but I read that PCMCIA RAM is not recognised as Chip but as slow,
slow and slow Fast.

Wait and go for a Blizzard when you can.

Thank you for the info both of you. I've seen what look like PCMCIA cards for Laptops with 2 USB slots on them. Is there any chance of one of these working in an A1200 so that a USB memory stick could then be used to transfer files from PC to Amiga? I know this isn't the same as Memory.

PS - I'll start a new penny jar just for a Blizzard!

nope, no usb cards will work...
amiga works with the old 16bit pcmcia cards, meaning you can use 10MBPS network cards, some! new wireless netcards, compact flash adaptors... perhaps u can use a CF card, with a driver from aminet the amiga sees it as a hard-drive...
