EAB/Lemon Super League 2017: Round 13 Game Vote

EAB/Lemon Super League 2017: Round 13 Game Vote
Starts: 00:01 September 24 Finishes: 23:59 October 7

Rules

Full rules are here.

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify.

The winners of Round 12 have double voting power for Round 13. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled. If one person wins both games in Round 12 their vote is trebled.

Tactical or nosey voters can see the Lemon voting thread here.

As I can't take part in the current round yet due to the minor technical detail of not having a working monitor, I thought I'd get the ball rolling in the voting instead (and don't forget to submit your Mystery Round nominations too, folks!).

1. Amegas
2. Datastorm
3. Blob
4. Car-Vup
5. Pinball Prelude

We're now into the last two days of voting, so please have a think if you haven't done so already. As ever, the relatively low number of votes plus the prospect of having a couple of votes doubled in this round means the field is wide open so it really is worth taking a few minutes to contribute.

4) Toki

I never really played these games but after a round of races I think we need a good platform...

Sorry but Ruff 'n' Tumble is on the Already Played list and Jim Power isn't suitable, as discussed in the past (a few times I think).

As a couple of my favs seem to have some traction in the voting I will take part...

1. Datastorm
2. Amegas*
3. Rainbow Islands (I am amazed at the lack of love for this in voting recently - it is available to be picked again, is it not considered one of the best arcade games on the Amiga?)
4. Ikari Warriors
5. Mega-lo-Mania

I am pleased to see people voting for Amegas as it is a very nostalgic game for me (it might have been the second game I ever played after Rainbow Islands), but I would point out that is it no Arkanoid, it is difficult, with dodgy collision detection, random bonuses that will give out random advantages, and bizarre (and unfair) game logic, such as death blocks that kill you when you hit them, yet you have to clear them to complete the level, exploding blocks that sometimes create more blocks and sometimes don't, and blocks that only disappear when you hold down the mouse button (why?).

For nostalgic purposes I'd like to play it, but I can see it frustrating a lot of people.

Voting is all over and here's how things stand.

1. Amegas - 21
2. Datastorm - 18
3. PGA Tour Golf - 15
4. Mega Lo Mania - 13
5. Qwak - 11

Total votes: 12 - Total games voted for: 34

It looks like a surprise win for Amegas could be on the cards here, but with a double round still in progress, it is still mathematically possible for any of the current top four to emerge as the winner.

As Lotus was a tie, nobody got a double vote there. But even if they did, it wouldn't have affected the outcome, as ED's double vote wasn't enough to shake things up significantly. The standings now look like this:

1. Amegas - 25*
2. Datastorm - 23*
3. PGA Tour Golf - 15
4. Mega Lo Mania - 13
5. Qwak - 11
