Probably unreleased CDTV games
Anyone know the status of any of these - they were all listed in the Amiga Buyers Guide magazine, Summer 1992. None are listed in HOL.

Lots of CDTV titles were annonced but then cancelled. Seems all your games were cancelled and/or not released.
As the CDTV were not a commercially succesfull machine, lots of publishers cancelled their titles or released them on a double CDTV/CD32 format later (Ik+, James Pond 2,...). Do not believe in the CDTV Commodore's catalog, it's a marketing product with no real confirmation from developers/publishers. |

But Loom CDTV WAS released!
Otherwise it would neither show up on Ebay currently nor would there be a box scan in HOL. Can't wait to see the final price ... (no I won't bid ... I do need to pay my rent this month ) |

Well, it looks my sarcastic remark regarding the paying of my rent was not THAT unrealistic, was it?

I don't think they officially released Loom on CDTV. The game was ready for sale, but canceled. Maybe some ex Commodore/Softgold employees made something public, who knows. There were some press CD's too, iirc.

As fare as I have heard the game got canceled by Lucasfilm (1992) because of the CDTV market went downhill fast so no official store release was out but not before the game was done and I'm guessing only 1 batch of cd's was made before Lucasfilm made their decision. Cost me 250 euros as mentioned but I am a collector so...but it is the most costly game I have bought and I prefer not pay this much for any game although I have seen it go for more before about 3 years ago, it is an expensive game to get usually.
The CDTV version itself is a disappointment, only german text and no ingame CD Audio or Speech that we did see in other CD editions like on PC and FM Towns. |

I have heard that Future Wars went pretty far to get released. It would be great to find a prototype.
A big clue to the CDTV version is that Future Wars was later released on cd-rom with a new full audio soundtrack, albeit not incorporated in the game. Just the standard game, and bonus audio tracks of the new music for your listening pleasure. Or then it was that a cd audio came as a bonus, something like that. Either way, there was a whole soundtrack recorded, and guess for what platform it was intended. Cheers, Talkie (PS: you can find the soundtrack easily on Emule and other places) |

I was also able to purchase an original of LoomCDTV from an ex-softgold-employee some years ago. This CD has a nice introduction Soundtrack at the beginning but no speech. ;O(
The soundtrack is available from CD32-allianz: http://static.cd32-allianz.de/downloads/audio/loom.mp3 BTW I know that from the game FutureWars a Soundtrack-CD was offered by the former german Amiga-Mag "AmigaJoker" limited to 50 copies. I'm searching for these soundtracks since years. If somebody can help to find this music I would be much appreciate. If the CDTV-version was finished I don't know. |

Loom CDTV is German only, it's the same as Indiana Jones CDTV.

do you still have contact to this ex-employee? No, I'm sorry. After the transaction was complete the contact was lost, but I think I have the e-mail-adress somewhere. And yes the conversion of Indy3 and Loom for the CDTV was done by softgold and is available in german language only. There are also some discussions about MonkeyIsland for CDTV but this version was never seen in public AFAIK. Any hints about the FutureWars Soundtrack-CD? |

The Future Wars OST: I have on some hard drive but would have to dig it out.
If you can, try this first? ed2k://|file|[Game%20Music]%20Jean%20Baudlot%20-%20Future%20Wars%20-%20Time%20Travellers%20(Les%20Voyageurs%20du%20Temps)%20-%20(Delphine%20Software%201989).rar|28737536|440B28BAB5179722DCBD75DC218C3D02|/ You need Emule. Put the link above in your internet browser while Emule is opened, than click return in the browser, and Voila, you are queued. I have no idea if it is what you are looking for. I think this is the extra audio cd that came with some original copies of Future Wars (PC disket) and than later added as bonus audio tracks in the cd-rom version, which featured the standard game with these tracks not being implemented within the game. I am only presuming, by pure deduction, that this was in the work for a CDTV version. I could be totally wrong, BUT.... Cheers, Talkie |
