I just got this little bundle from an old guy advertising it as "spares or repairs" in a local paper.... It only cost me £8 for the lot.... and it all works perfectly!

Well. I have GP2X and I love it to pieces. But I really want to see a better (faster) emu platform for PSX, Sega CD, Turbo Duo, tari ST, Amiga, Mac, and MS DOS games.
The GP2X Wiz will have no keyboard, so a Pandora is a better choice for computer emulation. The Pandora I believe will be more powerful and have more RAM than the GP2X Wiz, also.
But.....
The Pandora has been notoriously slow in arriving. Many EAB members here canceled their order when the Pandora did not ship as promised in November!
The GP2X Wiz has arrived and so far mostly rave reviews.
I intend to get a Pandora too, once it arrives. But the Wiz to me is a no brainer.

Yep i have read up on that but i think i will keep the A600 as it is I already have an upgraded A1200 and A500.... the A600 has 2mb so i think it will be ok for now as i don't think it will get as much use as my other miggy's

The Pandora keeps getting delayed but i think it will be well worth the wait as it is going to be the most powerful handheld and as you said it has a keyboard too which will make it more flexible.... I think i will wait for the Pandora and just use my old GP32 and PSP in the meantime

Another very underrated console! I also have a dreamcast and they are great for homebrew.... If you have an early unit that can read CDR's of course

I still have my original Dreamcast and only really bought it for Shenmue... I have both Shenmue 1 + 2 and think they are great Just hope they release a third one as the story is not yet finished

My Dreamcast has stayed nice and bright white too They do tend to yellow a bit prematurely compared to other consoles which is a shame.
I wonder if the white Xbox 360's will start to yellow soon?

Later units cannot? I thought all PAL consoles read CDR's?

CONFIRMED, all PAL consoles will boot backups. There was never an updated version of the BIOS for PAL consoles which removes the MIL-CD format used to boot backups.

I did not know that about the PAL units? but the NTSC units manufactured after NOV 2000 generally do not read CDR's.

Its hard to say for sure as some people report both PAL and NTSC consoles not working with CDR's... but the brand of CDR could be the culprit there! And some believe it is only the promotional Dreamcasts that cannot read CDR's....

I'll get the Pandora if it comes out and the reviews are good. I think you and I should wait and not try and be the "first ones".
I know the batches are small and we'd have to wait for the next batch, but it is worth it to avoid hassle and aggravation.

I bought over the last week a DCE Flicker magic, Wizard Magnum 030/40 with 32mb RAM, 2 x 4Gb Microdrive (ex iPod) and a dual CF/IDE 44pin adapter.

At the car boot the week before I got a 3com 3c589D and a compaq WL110 for a bargain £1 each!!

Just waiting for most of it to turn up, then once fitted the 2mb A600 and megadrive are going to have to be sold

Bought yet another A3000 - why?
Well, I screwed up my spare mobo trying to replace the CPU with a SMT PLCC socket so I'm going to have another go.
