Amiga (and others) Upgrades and Repairs

Hello everyone! Since a lot of you that visit this site may not use the facebook amiga group page or amiga.org I wanted to post here about my USA located repair, recap and upgrade services.

I can do quite a bit and have plenty of past customers now that can speak to the quality of my work. If you do have facebook or just want to see some of the posts I do on my repair page it can be seen here:

http://www.facebook.com/acillclassics

I also have a store page at http://www.acill.com

Amiga.org repair thread: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=70747

I plan to start posting some of my work here in this thread as well, but please feel free to contact me if you are looking to have someone in the US look over your Amiga

Can you disclose publicly what some normal repairs would cost? I guess an A1200/A600/CD32/etc recapping service would be the most common request and would be great if you can tell us in advance how much it would cost.

Thanks!

Typical cost for a recap on the A600 and A1200 is $58 and the A4000 is $68. I use Panasonic Hybrid caps only and this adds to the cost. I have done some for less when the owner insists on sending a cap kit from Amikit. In that case it usually is about $38.

Replacing simm sockets is $25 each which includes the new socket.

Battery circuit repairs on A4000 can run from $120 and up depending on the work involved.

CD32 recaps using hybrid caps is about $80 depending on current price of the caps. This is because of the high nimber required.

A4000T complete recap is $100 which includes the main board and three modules.

Buster replace/upgrade is $38

Socket replace is also $38 each.

That should give you a good idea. Here is also a list of recent work with some good quality pictures.

Some final pictures of the A3000 repairs for a customer. I've added a custom mini board with a coin cell battery mod. The machine is working great now.

I sent 2 A1200s to Acill for recap and audio repairs and got them back last week. Great quality work and the boards look and work like new. Service was timely there was good communication through the entire process. I have an A500 that needs some work and I'll definitely be going back to him when the time comes. Thanks Paul!

This is an A4000 board I have been working on for a customer that had someone attempt to repair the ROM sockets and didn't do a very good job of it. The sockets were ripped out mostly and took several eyelets with it and tore several more from traces. He has limited funds so we are doing it as correct as I can for him in small stages. You can see the new copper eyelets in this shared album.

Its been ages since I shared anything! I've been updating my web site a lot though. Most work is housed over on it now as I complete things. Take a look over at www.acill.com for the blog and pictures!

Now, here is a beautifully done CD32 I just finished tonight!

Check it out here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fYhPN7Y7UfeeJPJk2

The latest A3640 built from one of the boards designed by Chucky. I built this one for Alex P. of the famous Scsi2SD creator.

Just wanted to offer my endorsement of Acill's repair service. I had an A4000D that needed a recap (motherboard and processor board), battery replacement, and a fix for the mouse port. He did an excellent, professional, and very clean job of getting them back to like-new condition.
