The CPU may well be dead after being used without a fan.

It was used with a fan. I took it off only for testing.

it may well be burnt out,but theres so many parts that can go wrong on these cards.it could be any number of parts that have failed.

ive noticed that alot of peaple open threads just for this subject.maybe someone could do a basic trouble shooting self diagnostic test they could do themselves.with a step by step checklist to follow ,just a thought.

as for repairing this card there are what? at least 2 parts on there that if there gone its going to be nye on impossible to fix.if there gone.
the mach130/131 and mach 210

to make it more clear;on a very basic test yeilds.
bad cpu=black screen
bad oscilator=black screen
bad 74fct16543tpv=black screen
bad mach 130/131=black screen
bad mach 210=no memory or partial memory in system or black sceen
bad 74f257au=same as above
you see where this is going.
some of it you can test yourself.some you cant without specialised equipment.

i mean if you had another one to test the mach chips in.thats two struck off the list.

It's even worse than the A600/A1200 PSU. 2.5 A@5 V instead of 3.0 A@5 V.

Yes, but that's the light weight A500 PSU. Not the heavy one!

I have a faulty Apollo 1240 here that you can strip for parts, both mach chips are present (unknown if they work though as board came to me in this condition)

Some idiot has attempted to change the Simm Socket and made an aweful mess of it, I'd say the PCB is beyond repair.

Main Mach Chip is 130 though.

If you want it drop me a PM and we can work something out.

Steve.

I guess you didn't have any luck with my card since you'e selling this on eBay now, this is yours isn't it?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Apollo-124...item4aae792a29

I'd suggest you be careful as your advert is pretty naughty given you know its faulty.

I'd appreciate you return my card if you no longer need it for testing.

Steve.
