RGB signal problem
Hi,
Recent I buy from Amibay an A1200 (Escom) Rev. 2B, the thing is I cant conect tru the RGB port by a Scart cable no image on there. i use 2 diferent cables normaly i use with others Amiga and no problem. I conect by RCA Video the signal ok, and olny I can Get image from RGB port if I connect by an 1084s monitor by VGA cable. What happens ? any idea? Thanks Regards and Amiga Forever. |

80% certain it is bad (lack of) voltage on the RGB select pin. (SCART pin 16)
If those cables work with other A1200's on the same TV that means there is something wrong with the A1200 you bought from Amibay. If it works with other Amiga's (non A1200) it could mean that your SCART cables are incorrectly wired. They could wire to a pin which does not have any voltage on an A1200? Work out which pin on the Amiga end of your SCART cable connects to SCART pin 16.
Post back here which pin it is. I can then tell you what voltage should be on that pin. Measure the voltage on that pin on the Amiga to double check there is a problem. Re-wire the Amiga end of the SCART cable to use a different pin. |

If its not that, it could be one of the ferrite beads blown. I have come across a few giving no RGB, but working fine on 1084 monitor.

the black end goes to GND (pin 18 SCART), red to pin 16 on SCART.
(but it doesn't really matter much) |
