Refurbishing LiteOn A4000D PSU?
I want to refurbish a working LiteOn A4000D PSU.
I've started by removing all the rust from the outside, giving it a light coat of temperature resistant primer. Removed all the dust using compressed air and replaced the fan with an almost silent dust proof one with an anti-vibration gasket & rubber grommets on the screws. The liteOn version has reasonable air flow compared to the other A4000D PSU so no metal cutting was required, plus it has a higher rating. Before I swap it in for the old noisy one in my A4000D can anyone point me in the direction of a decent guide as to which capacitors to replace. Types, sizes etc. Seems nuts to go to all this trouble only for it to fail a few weeks in due to bad capacitors. Please do not reply "All of them!" |

I did.
The ones who fails more often are the output filters (values depends on the PSU you have) and the high voltage pair. |
