Sprit Ripping?
Does anyone know if there is any easy way to rip sprits from Amiga games using a Emulator (Action Replay used to be able to do this on the amiga)
Thanks for Any Ideas! //no signature please (your site is auto-link just bellow ) |

I just take a screenshot with print screen and paste the thing into a new document in photoshop. Then I make the necessary cropping etc. depending on your photoshop skills and effort, this may be the easiest method or may be the lamest.

MadMunky, sorry - I know this is off topic, but I went to your Bloodwych page and have a couple of comments.
1 - thanks for giving non-Java support. 2 - I dunno if it's just on the non-Java version or not, but none of the maps display, just broken picture links. 3 - Never heard of Stew before, but again, all of the pics are broken and I could find no link to where to obtain the files for that emulator. Thanks. |

I wouldn't recommend screen grabbing sprites, well not if you are after one with a dozen frames of animation.
If you have an Amiga it's very easy to rip graphics (I still do it from demos/games nowadays). use BPLRipper which is on Aminet somewhere. I've tried using it on the Emulator but refuses to work - I guess it's a memory thing and as for that bloody software Action Replay...useless even a 4000. |

Well if you want me to guide you through the ripping process get on IRC and I'll explain!
I am planning on putting X_Tos tutorials on my webspace, but atm I'm changing ISPs so it'll have to wait. Maybe RCK would host it ;D |

@marco pedrana
believe me, when you read the tutorials it´s easier than you thought how to rip the sprites... you can download them from the zone and after you practice with the tool you should understand how it works... also understanding assembler on the amiga is difficult, but when you get grips of the stuff its really easy... btw: yes its possible to rip srites with the AR...but not in thatcomfortable way like the GfxRipper... |
