RomCenter for dummies

Ok... I'm really pissed off of this one. I managed to load a dat-file into RC, now whenever I click "rename rom" it tells me "no fix needed".

Can anybody write or point me to a tutorial from the VERY beginning on how to rename my games with this program?

Don't tell me to use RomDoctor or ClrMamePro...

if you have good .dat & good directory path, there is no problem
note: sometimes romcenter has already fixed your roms and left some dupe (duplicate) in your directory, telling you he have to rename them! in fact, just delete those files (or move them), and all will be okay. (especially for Skybaby's dat)

if romcenter tells you that no fix are needed, you can delete those xtra roms.

On the side you'll see them icon's that look lije roms (Memory chips) and icons that look like zip files.

Click on the ones that look like zip's and you should be able to rename by right clicking on the bad rom in the main pane.

This should help, and I know you didn't want anyone to say it, but you really should be using something else, Romcenter sucks

I would really *really* consider learning to use clrmamepro as its so much better and less buggy too!

I used to swear by romcenter up until a few months ago, then I used the two side by side for a while and now Ive uninstalled it completely.

clrmamepro appears to have much better Mame support too.

If you want a tutorial on clrmamepro - just ask!!
