Ye, I stopped pre-ordering games a couple of years ago because of this and for me, as a collector, its annoying that on modern consoles, the game you have on the physical media is never the game you actually play.
From this point of view I actually prefer that Reshoot isn't patched. ;-)

As Ive said before; I love the game, and will defintly purchase the followup.

One issue Ive noticed with Richard Löwenstein is that he is too low key

On his patreon page he only got 8 members, and imho its probably cause many dont even know about this option. He should remind us every now and then.

Interview with him in german;

Finally a playthrough video of RESHOOT. Took longer than I expected. And it´s also made from someone who uses a trained version which is ... well ... cheating. What the video doesn´t show is: The second playthrough is a little bit different to the first one. So there is still something to discover ... :-)

Not to sure though, what I think about some guys changing the code and offering a trained version of my game without even telling me. Is this unkind? For sure. Illegal? Yes. Does a shoot´em-up without collision detection make sense? Probably not. And it also works against my plans to open up a highscore website. Shame.

@Overflow: There are so many people around who talk and talk and never actually finish their work. In comparison I may be too low key, you might be right. But as soon as I´ve got something to show from RESHOOT R, I definitely will. Some technical stuff is already working and it looks ... so AGA-enhanced :-)

@buzzybee Now that you showed everyone you can deliver a game in a relative short time frame (unlike a lot of ppl out there :-) you could actually build a bit more hype around ReshootR. Teasers etc.. The occasional screenshot etc. Could help you gain some new Patreon supporters.

Regarding the trainer.. Well, don't remember anyone doing a cracktro ever asking for permission ;-)

@eXeler0: Regarding Cracktros and permission – you´d probably be surprised as how many wellknown Amiga coders from the old days also cracked and spreaded games. In some cases there were hold-fire agreements within the scene / between different teams. So spreaders did hold back releases for a few weeks to allow the coders to at least earn some money with their games.

Regarding getting the message out there: I will try, still it´s not my favorite part of making an Amiga game. My favorite part of making an Amiga games is ... making it! :-)

Yup, this is a bit ridiculous.
You clearly lived in an oyster throughout the 80s and 90s if you think this is done any other way.
Be glad these guys are so honorable they aren't even spreading your full game.

@Akira: I am totally aware how the pirate scene ticked and ticks; in fact I lead an Amiga magazine which had monthly pages covering exactly this topic in a more or less understanding, reader-oriented way. Doesn´t mean I should feel glad that someone takes my work and alters it without asking me. This is still unpolite and illegal, no matter what.

But yes, I kind of appreciate that Siriax does not spread the full game.

Since Richard isnt too eager to advertise the product until he got something to show, I will force his hand;

https://www.patreon.com/loewenstein

Im sure many of you know he released Reshoot a while ago, and is now coding away on a sequel; Reshoot R.
So far he has just released a image, and it kinda reminds me of R-Type and Salamader (C64 game).
More colors this time around compared to the original Reshoot! :-)

I hope he took my criticisms of the first game to heart and is implementing them into this one. The first game was decent but sadly unfinished.

It needs 3 life, power up with bosses. and better music then it has the potential to be a classic Amiga shmup!

@Overflow: Thanks for sharing ... :-)

@Lantus360: My plan is to tick all the boxes you mention with RESHOOT R.

Just throwing an idea here, I'd love a "run" section where your ship has to kill enemies and avoid obstacles at very fast scrolling with a quick paced music.

You mean sort of like the "Project-X Bonus Level" demo?

or the "Stardust Tunnel Level" / "Super Stardust Tunnel Level" demos?

That's a cool idea indeed vulture

That Project X tunnel tunnel idea was never great to start with

Like Project-X, but - as Akira said - hopefully better implemented, with less unforgiving obstacles (like the Turrican II sequence) and enemy waves thrown in.

Each to their own I guess; I quite enjoy it but definitely not easy...

There was also Spatial Hyperdrive on PD, which had the same concept, and it was a mixed bag. I just don't think that kind of gameplay is very rewarding! It usually feels like your progression is based off sheer luck rather than rewarding your skills.

Project-X was even worse with the "brilliant" inertia "feature" too.

Not too sure if such a tunnel would feel great. Personally I never had the feeling that such a feature enhances the experience much, not even in Turrican.

Except if its implemented real well... while I´m typing this I´m having a great idea which might actually work :-)

Btw. guys did you notice that I opened up a new thread exclusively for RESHOOT R? Maybe it makes sense to move all discussions concerning RESHOOT R there ... ?

Yes, I can move posts accordingly.

...but the thing is, the majority of posts here discussing this are prior to your new thread. If I do move them they will be above your first post in that thread...

If you're ok with that I can move say from post #188 to this one?
