Looking for 18pin 64k DRAM chips 90ns +

Hi, I need some 18pin 64k DRAM chips 90ns + to add more ram to my ram board. Except nowhere sells them in small batches (batch of 40 say) and they are not cheap.

Does anybody know any electronics websites or any places that sell these chips. Saw some on ebay but they were 16pin

I found a website that sells electronics parts to school is the us but they havnt replied to my email as of yet....=\

Needing some help on a google hunt

Thanks

EDIT: Maybe this should have been in the marketplace...

My best advice to you is to find another more common bit of hardware that had these chips that you can buy and rape it

Some people on here recommend looking at old ISA/VLB gfx cards.

Get me a model number for the RAMS you use and I'll keep an eye open.

Very Cheap, 120ns but USA only: (Try to convince them to ship to UK?)

http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Pc-Lot-Sharp...QQcmdZViewItem

A bit expensive £27 for 20 but UK based:

13 for £18

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HM50464P12-NMO...QQcmdZViewItem

NOTE: These are 64kx4 = 32Kbytes per chip. This means you need 16 per 1/2 Megabyte... big RAM expansion to take 32-chips!

Make sure these are REALLY the chips you need. Most amiga expansions used 256kx1!!

Bah!! These are the wrong chips....

Amiga Hardware says
The board takes 18pin 1Mx1 Socketed DRAM Chips (16 banks) - 80ns

The manual says
They must be over 120ns

Damn, I swear one website said the other type...ok hunting for something else now....

I didnt think that anything Amiga took x4 DRAM.

What is it? SupraRAM 2000?

Amiga Hardware is wrong in lots of places, e.g. it says "(16 Banks)" on the SupraRAM 2000 when it should say 4 banks of 16.

When it says OVER 120ns it means FASTER than 120ns which means a lower number than 120 i.e. 100 or 80!

The chips on the SupraRAM in the pictures on Amiga Hardware are 1Mx1 as you can see from the photo. The photo shows a mixture of HY51C1000LS-12 and HY51C1000LS-10.

These are common chips and should be easy to find.

HOWEVER, you could probably get a fully populated RAM expansion for the same price

I got a quote on the first chips 64kx4 for $1 per chip ($32) plus P&P.

Not very useful as I dont need them and rather expensive....

Does anyone know any old hardware that uses 1Mx1 DRAM chips?? thanks to alexh btw

Of course they did, Commodore themselves with the A590 used 256x4 DRAM
(4x banks of 256kbit) 1mbit.

I think you will find, when they say "Over" 120ns, it SHOULD read "FASTER" than 120ns, which means the LOWER the number, the better..

using chips marked -60 (60ns) is faster than -12 (120ns), and I would suspect would work.
