Florasoft Worldwide, a German cracking group, likely pioneered one of the earliest Amiga intros featuring a real-time 3D vector object back in 1987.

First Sinus-Scroller, (as we all know it) was seen in The Sin Intro by PHR-Crew. Released on Jan.1988 coded by Haegar.
NOTE: In 1987 there are some intros with similar routines but none of them really have the typical sinus scroll look we all understand (Bamiga Sector One for example, has one from November 1987). I think this was the first time we all really saw the concept itself.

Mandelbulbs and other 3D fractal extensions have been ray marched on PCs a long time now. However it's almost always a GPU task, rather than a CPU one. Way back in 2008 or so there was even an interactive webpage called Fractal Lab or something that did the whole lot with webgl and shaders.

Seeing it done on the 68060 in software is definitely impressive.
