Been sorting through my old archives and found a um.lzx, when I extracted it I found this game demo. The readme listed a website, which is obviously where I got it from. Found the site on arc.org and the download still works:

Could you decompress it from lzx and upload to the Zone?

If possible, an .adf of this game would be appreciated as well! Just asking, and thank you.

High density ADFs are compatible with WinUAE, so I'll see if it will fit.

Thank you very much; I've tried making my own .adfs with ADFOpus but they never work. I've even tried following online documents to that effect but I just can't suss them. Once again, however, thank you.

If it fits, I will upload it tomorrow.
I have a high density floppy drive for my A1200 and will unpack the archive to an FFS-formatted high density disk in my A1200. If I don't run out of disk space before the archive is fully extracted, then I will create an ADF image of the floppy using TSGUI. I think you will need a Kickstart 3.x ROM image to support high density ADFs mounted as floppies in WinUAE. Alternatively, you should be able to mount it as a hard drive instead just to run the demo under emulation, unless it has to be run from df0: If it doesn't fit, I will extract it instead to a slightly larger hardfile. |

Sure enough; I think what I need is to find a better step by step guide on how to make .adfs. It's a shame there isn't some programme that converts .lhas to .adfs, but I'm guessing that isn't possible. Oh well.

AntiPontifex: try adfview.
installing this, you can create empty adf images dd and hd . open them in windows-explorer, like folders. move files onto, or erase file from adf image. the "new" menu, contains now "Amiga disk file". add bootblock to make it autostart. works here with win7. you can then extract the lha into a windows folder ( latest winrar for example ). then you can copy the content of the folder onto the adf. game wont autostart - since s/startup-sequence is missing. when you see the amigados prompt: cd um um should start the game. worth a try. s2325: thanks, i was still investigating and editing Edit: i found a problem with hd floppy images of adfview, maybe problem on my side, but i was reporting here Last edited by emufan; 07 February 2013 at 14:05. |

Yes, just choose bootable disk and type name of executable file in CLI.

i made another adf. i replaced the "stuff/title.med" with a small .med from music archive. original title.med was too big. i zoned the working adf (um.adf)
the game only starts from loaded workbench. booting same floppy does not work. something is missing. maybe someone has more luck, sorry. :/ |
