Dat File Offsets?
Hi,
It's been a hundred years since I did anything in C (or anything else really) so I'm very rusty. To ease myself into it again I want to code a small DAT file checker for the Amiga (DAT files used with clrmame) but I can't find the file specs anywhere (i.e offsets etc.) for the DAT files. I've had a quick look at a DAT file in a HEX editor and I think that each record is 155 bytes but like I said I'm rusty ( and lazy ) so was hoping someone had the file offsets for creating/reading a DAT file. Any help will be appreciated! Cheers, Brakus |

Errr, CMP dat files are plain text, and there are no fixed offsets (what on earth did you see in that hex editor? ).
Details here: http://www.logiqx.com/DatFAQs/CMPro.php Edit: Or is this about some ancient format I'm not aware of? |
