Disk monitor needed
Hi,
I'd like to examine the boot block of an Amiga disk. I already searched for an Amiga program via Google but without success. DiskZap only allows the examination of files and I wasn't able to locate a download source for DiskX, DiskBuzz and Sectorama. Could you point me to a program (in ADF- or DMS-format), that is able to display the content of the boot block? Thanks. |

DiskX in lha archive http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/DiskX You can use it with virtual HDD if you don't know how to copy it inside ADF.
and Sectorama: http://aminet.net/package/disk/moni/Sectorama |

Thanks for the fast reply. I downloaded both archives, copied the unpacked files in an ADF-file, but I can't get them to run. What is wrong? Sorry for this basic question, but I have no knowledge of how files are handled by the Amiga (as I bought this computer second hand some years ago).
Any help is appreciated. |

You need to find and load WorkBench from ADF file. And you can not just copy ADF file on floppy disk to use with Amiga.

First, I created an empty Diskimage using WinUAE, then I unpacked DiskX.lha and copied the files in the empty diskimage. Then I booted the workbench in WinUAE in df0: and inserted the diskimages with the DiskX files in df1:. I can see some files and click on them, but either the screen flashes for a short time or, in case of the executable, nothing happens

I used the program Discovery which is located on Apocalypse utilities 92.
I don't remember, where I downloaded it, but I could upload it to the zone if requested. |
