Nothing wrong with funding an open source implementation.
As long as the license is something proven like LGPL. These licenses exist today because of situations exactly like this one. Seems to me there are lots of people more than willing to spend their hard earned cash on next gen accelerators. I would guess those same people would contribute to a next gen RTG solution, especially if it's guaranteed to be usable with all future hardware. You just need to find someone with a proven track record that people will trust with their money. |
