WinUAE crashing when copying from HDF to ADF
Getting a problem with WinUAE crashing when I am copying files from a HDF (FFS) to an ADF (FFS) file, and then typing dir on the contents of the ADF in df0:
Using WinUAE 1.4.1. Using K/S3.1 with WB3.1 + MUI (no other patches). I was getting a problem just writing to the ADF file where the Amiga would GURU, but this was fixed by changing to Cycle Exact emulation, and resulted in the above error which was WinUAE itself crashing instead of the Amiga GURU. It doesn't crash when I just dir the contents of ADFs without doing the HDF to ADF copy. Log files and UAE config attached. winuaebootlog.txt winuaelog.txt KS3.1 Programming.uae winuae_1410_20070529_234759.dmp.txt Last edited by Calgor; 01 June 2007 at 10:03. |

Email the dump file, thanks. (make sure windows error reporting is not completely disabled if dump file is missing)

Just wanted to make sure, is it through Dr Watson that I should enable crash dump logging? Seems Dr Watson is not the default debugger anymore, and hasn't logged anything since last year, not sure how to determine the current dump logging settings.

It has nothing to with Dr Watson (or any other debugger), WinUAE internally captures the exception and uses specific Windows subsystem (as long as
System properties/Advanced/Error Reporting is not disabled) to write the dump file. Dump file is called winuae_<blahblah>.dmp |

Do not enable cycle-exact in non-68000 modes.

Here are the logs associated with AmigaOS hanging within WinUAE with the only difference in configuration being Cycle Exact deselected.
As described in initial post, in this situation, the emulated amiga hangs (however now with the cursor not moving - for some reason no guru this time) while copying files from hdf to adf. Seems to be a lot of "out of event2's". winuae_amigaos_hang_copy_hdf2adf.zip |
