lol, I just looked in the Dictionary, look what I found.

Pedantic
1. academic, donnish, pedantic -- marked by a narrow focus on or display of learning especially its trivial aspects. See Enverex.

So vote for The Bards tale[sic], I think we are all smart enough to figure it out.

Hmmm ... A mere 7 posts since joining EAB, and already you've managed to go out of your way to insult someone who has been a contributing member on the board for a considerably longer period of time.

I am suitably impressed ... and while that dictionary is at hand, you might look up "suitably" in order to judge it's meaning in this context.

I'd vote for Time Bandit; BUT IT ISN'T THERE. This is an injustice, vengence will be swift.

Ok what Enverex said could be taken the wrong way and what I said can only be taken as an attack. So it looks like I owe him an apology.

Enverex I'm sorry, thanks for all your help on irc.

Water under the bridge, just pass the word on so we get an honest winner. I know some people are not quite old enough to remember some of these games, but thats what Enverex's superb atomnet.co.uk and back2roots are for and if you know these games then play em just one more time, for old times sake.

Vote, vote, vote, vote, vote, vote, vote, vote!

It was a tough decision, but I also had to vote for Marble Madness. Of all of those games, that was the one that I probably got the most play out of when it first came out though, so that gives it a slight edge for me. There were a few other '85 titles that weren't listed, but I don't think I'd rate them as high as most of what was on the list.

One thing I'm not real clear on though is this one - Colossal Adventure. Is this just another one of the many implementations of the original "Adventure" that have been done over the years?

I posted a thread prior to this asking for nominations, but got few replies :-( if your complaining about missing games I'm sorry but I didnt play them all. Next time I'll try and get a bigger list. Thanks to all who have voted so far.

Not a complaint, just an observation. There simply weren't very many games released in '85, and a number of those were ports from other machines, and not necessarily good ports. One on One, Seven Cities of Gold and Archon would fall into this category, and I just never got real excited by any of those. If I were putting together a list for '85 to be voted on, I probably would have left all three off too unless someone requested adding them.

By the way, you quoted my question about Colossal Adventure in your post, but you didn't answer it. Was that just another implementation of Crowther and Woods original "Adventure"?

But Leaderboard can be played at leisure with lots of people.

It is also predominantly green.

And just the way it loads up from Workbench with no copy protection reminds be of the days when the Amiga was still considered a serious computer where no one would dream of copying a game or prevent a user putting it on their massively expensive HD.

Erm, Leader Board had dongle protection when it was first released in 1986, so I'm guessing Access/US Gold didn't share your view that no-one would have dreamt of copying a game back then
