CF<>IDE not recognised by HDtoolbox
Hi I have an A1200T with a apollo 040.
I am using a buffered IDE splitter and ideix 97. I have a ide to cf card adapter which I got of Ebay. Whenever I connect it to either IDE cable it doesnt show up in HDtoolbox. My HD (ide cable 1) shows up and even my cdrom (ide cable 2) shows up. Are there any other things I can try? (Im using a 32mb cf card for the time being) |

I never got a CF on IDE to work with idefix. It would crash as soon as it was run. Sounds like your CF isn't connected properly. Check the hdd and the CF are jumpered up properly as master and slave. It doesn't matter at all which is master and which is slave. The CF IDE adapter I got off ebay didn't register properly as a master because the jumper pins on the board were skewed and weren't being closed by the jumper properly which caused some confusion so check that.
Try the CF as a master on cable 1 without idefix. |

This is most likely a problem with the CF card itself.. The adapters are all identical (there's only one way to wire a CF <-> IDE adapter), so it's up to the card to play nice on the IDE bus.
If you can borrow some other cards, try different brands. |
