Agricola, a platform game never released

Sometimes ago I got in contact with a guy to whom I sold an arcade board.
I was speaking with him and he told me he was an Amiga coder and he made a game which he never finished for various reasons.

He told me the title, and I soon remembered it very well because at the time I was very stunned by the quality of the graphics.

So I dig up all my collection of The Games Machine (the most famous italian magazine dedicated to videogames) and I found the preview.

Funny enough, Agricola was previewed in the same page as the newly added AGTW game Fighting Cancer!
http://agtw.abime.net/extras/31_1.jpg
Agricola is featured on pic 9 and 10.

Baldassare Profeta, the coder of the game, was kind enough he gave me an early demo in ADF format (dated back early 1992) and the last version of the game which he demonstrated in october 93 at the SMAU stand of TGM.
He also compiled a special version of the game with every level executable separately.

I can only say it's a pity he didn't finished it because gfx and music were really of high quality for the time.

Please tell me where to upload all the files I have got from him.

Hi Kold - excellent, thanks!

We have a special file upload section here on the forum called the Zone: http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=vb_...ezone_faq_item

Or if you want to email it to agtw I can upload it to the Zone.

WoooooW !!! This game plays very well. It is a very fluffy jump n run, with nice graphics and a lovely little levelchoon. This would be a perfect Codemasters or Idea game.

i guess i have it still, somewhere. i've thrown away all the numbers >60 more or less, as they became pretty much useless. however, thanks again for the info.

Agricola? Sounds like a soft drink..... "I'll have a can of that refreshing new Agricola please"....

Ahem. Nice find though. Would a WHD install be possible for the newer demo? Anyone?

in italian, in that form is currently just an adjective, and even a substantive in italian vulgar (in the sense of part of the talked language) from 1300, (Dante, Convivio) with the same meaning of the latin substantive, agricola, agriculturist; andreas is right, there was also a treatise -rerum agricola-, On Agriculture, written in latin, but this one i don't remember from which time period comes.
