Two new games (previews) ported from NES.
Hi,
This time I focus on NES Two games ported from NES. Both are previews. I have agreements from original authors to make ports (or/and pimp up those games). Both productions were shown on RetroKomp GameDev Compo 2015 (5th - Alter Ego and 12th - Chase ). First one is Chase. Very simple and short but addictive. Just eat all gems from level. Controls: Joystick - move hero Left mouse button - exit to OS (Sorry is not exact but should works and for sure this will be changed) Second one is Alter Ego, very cute and nice platformer. Collect all bouncing pixels. You can swap between hero and ego. Avoid deadly skulls. Controls: Joystick - move hero Fire - swap with ego (if you have them) Left mouse button - exist to OS, same remarks as for Chase. On last level there is a small bug which I don't solve yet. But is possible to finish game. Comments / ideas are welcome. If there is a musician who can help to improve sfx/music for both games then please contact with me. requirements: A500 0.5 MB CHIP Games in adf format in the Zone. Enjoy. Regards asman Last edited by Asman; 04 November 2015 at 11:52. Reason: added missing info about that games have adf format, correct chase place on RetroKomp |

These are awesome! Keep doing this sort of thing, please! We highly appreciate it.
They work flawlessly on real hardware (A500), BTW. |

Great work!
I took a quick look at them and they both look very accurate to the NES versions. The only missing is the music. Try contact adrdesign and ask him if he can convert the music to Protracker mods. He did a great job with Mario |

Great work. These are great, fun games in their own right, and even better to play on our favourite hardware

Man, I love AlterEgo!
As I said I could help with the music, but if you contacted ADR, that's alright, he's much better than me |

PLayed Alter Ego, it's like a 1:1 copy which makes me a bit sad that the graphics have not been upgraded at all for the Amiga. It's still a damn solid game.

1) Background animation 2) Particles (when you take item for example) 3) few other things here and there like animation of eyes of skulls 4) on last level three sprites blinking because there is no simple multiplexer. 5) there is no music My plan is to make two versions of games: preview and final. Preview should like a 1:1 copy. Final - the pimped up version. |

I would personally play both. And damn these comments make me want to try the games on my A500+ so badly I might finally setup a transfer solution tonight. |

@Asman
I played AlterEgo for about 20 minutes and I found it very nice, congrats for your job so far! I am wondering if there is the chance to save your progress or if it is possible to add some codes/passwords in order to start the game from the last level you reached... |

Need to look at this. How long does it take to port a game? Can most nes games be ported?
