A little bit contrived, I know, but still... Paradroid. The C64 version was awesome, I always felt a bit let down by the Amiga game "Paradroid '90"

Quite true !!
The reason behind this, is that Amiga games were quick & dirty ports from c64 version, without exploiting the superior amiga hardware.

There is an Amiga version of Paradroid that is supposedly just as good as the C64 version technically, but was never released.

I agree. If there was one thing to be jealous of C64 for, was that they had International Karate too (without the +) and the Amiga didn't.

turrican 1+2. Amiga version had better music but the c64 had better scrolling SEU sections!

Kinda agree with Turrican 1, but Turrican 2 was by far better on the Amiga.

I agree to that! Amiga Archon was a terrible awful letdown.

C64 version FTW!

Yeah, the game itself was better but the c64 still rocked with the SEU sections, it still let you shoot on the ultra fast level. That was a shock after completing the Amiga version first!

Thanks tcd...

As mentioned before, when I upgraded from my c64 I bought myth for the amiga and hated the fact they had changed the central character

Apart from those already mentioned:

Cabal (Amiga version is too hard)
Ghouls'n'Ghosts (Amiga music rocks but game is much smoother on the C64)
Operation Wolf (Amiga version is too hard)
Several Pete Johnson's games (Robocop, Wizball...)
