No one Know What chip is involved on the board ?
I think is an Alimentation component, the board is
not revealed, from the bootstrap sequence, this
indicate, the section of the IDE is completament
not revealed.

PS: Yes the Hardware is OLD and Slowly all the
A4000 DEAD...... The electrolitic capacitor have
a lifetime !

Actually in any Amiga 4000 the IDE controller is implemented using two PAL's. In Amiga 4000D they are U901 (decoder) and U902 (FSM).
Gary only decodes IDE controller memory range.

Long time ago I made a replacement for U902 with faster transfer mode (PIO2 or PIO3, I can't remember exactly). But the speed gain wasn't spectacular (a few of 100KB/s increase).

That's very interesting! (Yes, I do need to get a life, but finding that sort of thing out 15 years after a machine was around makes me grin)

Are 901/902 responsible for anything else? My IDE interface died just before my warpengine did...
