in this version the sound is much more accurate than in the hardfile i downloaded.
how did you do that? or what is wrong with that hardfile? is there missing something?

You may ask in comments because it's not my video. I like Another World but watching longplay of Heart of the Alien is my sleeping pill. I'm not sure what's wrong with this game.

I noticed this as well. I have the same issue in WinUAE; the sound in the intro is out...

The sound is spot on here on 3.4.0 b14 with the HDF I compiled.
Using an older UAE and/or WinUAE version perhaps ?

Still the same issue with the latest beta unfortunately.

I'll try to explain; it's all related to the intro:

a) 1st screen; sound is sync'd perfectly when the beast flies in and when he screeches 3 / 4 times.
b) 2nd screen; sound is also sync'd perfectly.
c) 3rd screen; sound seems to be sync'd perfectly.
d) 4th screen; I guess sound is not in sync, possibly slightly faster than the animation (when buddy is carrying the human) as before it's changes to the next screen you hear music from the next screen.
e) 5th screen; lady walks by and by the time you are looking in the window the sound has finished playing until...
f) 6th screen; sound restarts again when bad aliens attack.
g) Later screens; possibly out of sync but haven't really noted it down as yet.

Using a standard "A1200 - 4 MB Fast RAM expanded configuration" (with Cycle-Exact ticked).

Tried playing with numerous settings (3.0 & 3.1 ROM, Cycle-Exact off / on, CPU fastest possible) but no joy

I have big announcement to make on behalf of D.J.M. - a version optimised for CD32 is coming, so don't waste your discs

So here's what will be new:

- Akiko optimisation is the big thing. The game uses C2P for rendering so we've been testing builds using the Akiko for that, and we've seen a big FPS increase. Currently with the test build, cutscenes can still drop down to 50% framerate but ingame framerate is either at or close to 100%.

(Note that this optimisation is only for CD32 of course, and won't benefit regular Amigas. Even SX32 type addons tend to break Akiko support)

- CD32 pad support, which essentially functions the same as the Mega Drive pad (Run/Whip/Jump Forward/Pause are all on discrete buttons)

Sounds great. But this would be nice for the current version too.

Heart of the Alien Beta CD Version Video..
As promised, here is the inofficial CD32 Version of this game including music and levelcodes.

I have just noticed that Earok has announced an optimized CD32 version of this game, so his version will be perhaps much better. Especially considering that his version may contain an optimized version from the author for the CD32. However, for the time being you may like to try this version. It runs quite decently as shown in the video. The sound is sync and the gameplay runs smoothly. The only thing that seems to be delayed is the password input.

This release is inofficial, made for fun and only hosted here in the zone.
I hope you like it. Cheers.

You have labelled it as CD32 but used 030 and fastest settings on winuae to show it off?
