Casual Play & Serious Play Amiga Setups

Hi guys.

We all love our Amigas whether a basic 500 or the latest model with mods of some sort. So I thoughtd I'd ask my fellow friends of this site what type of amiga setup do you use/play when either you play games casually or seriously?

For example if I'm just casually playing an amiga game. I would use winuae on my pc and either use keyboard or my xbox 360 controller with it. Hooked up on a 24" monitor. Sound wise amiga direct into stereo.

If I allocate myself time and seriously play my amiga. I would use my real amiga 500 with gotek drive on my 1084S monitor or transfer my real amiga to my big screen tv and use it on that. Control method genuine amiga joystick. Sound wise amiga direct into amp.

My main Amiga gaming setup is a CD32. I stopped playing games on my A1200 and 600s ever since I got it. I'm hoping Stedy's expansion comes out so I can use WHDload properly, but even without it I still prefer it to playing with the computers where I run into a lot of trouble trying to load WHD patches (game slowdowns, missing files, weird crashes, etc)

Casually. A1200 with WHDload or even WinUAE and a logitech rumblepad.

If I'm in for the long haul, then I'll write it out to floppy disks and play on the A600 and 21" Trinitron

My main Amiga is my A1200 with 060, indivision, cf HD and whdload. It's great but because it can run stuff like doom, quake, duke nukem etc it doesn't really feel like a 'proper' Amiga. It's hard to explain. My bog-standard A500 with 512kb upgrade attached to a Philips cm8833 mk2, no hd so constant floppy swapping, feels much more like the authentic Amiga experience I had as an 11 year old lad in 1989.
