I heard the announcement on the live broadcast from the show. It was stated that OS4 for Classics will be released on 30/11/07. The package will contain a boot floppy, a CD-ROM and a manual. Pricing was not mentioned.

I doubt that there are many PPC users with less than 64MB or RAM. That's like fitting a diesel engine in a Ferrari.

No, it's not even close.

Hahah, as if. :-D

Oh well, if it DOES ship, I have a broken CSPPC that will probably have to be sent to JJ B to get un-broken. ;-)

Maybe because this is a modern OS, not 3.1 with some patches. As for 64MB being bloated, cell phone OSes need more than that.

Of course it wouldn't be a surprise, it's 6 years late and every year there's been an announcement that it would be out by Christmas.

Actually you have got it all wrong!. Due to a small printing error the release date is NOT Nov 30th 2007, its actually 30th of Nov 2070 !!.

Now that this has been cleared up, we can now move on and forget about Amiga Inc and its incompetence or is that impotence !?!?. Maybe its both.

Yeah, that really blows if you have an A1200

Then you have to wrestle with clockport soundcards to get 16bit sound and PCMCIA Nic's

A4000/A3000 have it better though that can use both Zorro + PCI cards

Correction. All Mediators use the same DMA hack, so A4000/A3000 users with Mediators are in the same position. I believe the Prometheous will work correctly, but I'm not certain.

I doubt it. The devs have said they have no G-Rex docs, hence no support. Can't see that changing any time soon. As for the Mediator, no amount of programming can modify the way it works, so no change there either.

Prometheus doesnt support DMA at all. There was going to be a patch coming out but with the death of Matay I find it unlikely.

I know, what I meant is that ZIII users can use ZIII nic's, soundcards etc and don't have to have any hackish clockport hardware haning around on the A1200 mobo.

It's still not perfect for Z3 hardware, as far as I can make out most hardware will be limited to 68k drivers. A few graphics cards will be the exception.

Well I did say I wasn't sure about that. I was going by a post made by a Prometheous user on another board. Guess he's in for a dissappointing discovery

True but if the 68k JIT is as good as in MorphOS PowerUP I'm not going to complain
