amiga 600 hdd ide and dvd

Hello All,

excuse for my poor english, and i know is this a correct forum.

My friend present for my a Amiga 600 with rom 37.500 and workb 2.1.

I have my mitic Amiga2000 with hdd scsi 20mb and 8mb ram, but with this amiga i'm not surfing into web and not having a cd rom...

I creata a cable for connect with 2 external box the hdd and dvd.

The quest is:

1. i have a hdd samsung spingpoint 10gb, use hdset and hdtoolbox and the amiga created correctly 2 partitions: 1 of 80mb and rest of 3958mb (not interesting of use all disk), then formating the second partitions have error message "not a valid dos disk"

2. Then i installin on 1° partitions the disk extras work correctly but after 10 minutes the system is blocked.

3. Why this Amiga dont see the dvd?

4. i have the disk of workbench 3.1, install this or is better for A600 the wb 2.1?

I know this discussion if old, but please one angel, can i help my?

And i thinks this: into winuea can i installing the workb 2.1 without my pc?

You need to install a file system driver to use an optical drive such as a DVD drive. There are several commercial ones and several free ones and AmigaOS3.5+ comes with one.

Asimware CDFS v3.9
Allegro CDFS
IDEFix CacheCDFS v42.19
AmiCDFS v2.40
BabelCDROMfs

I would recommend using a different HD Toolbox than the one that comes with WB2.1 with a 10GB hard drive.

WB3.1 works well on A600 but you will need a new KS ROM (v40.63)
