Question Why I can't see my real FFS HD under winUAE?

I just put on my pc the hard-disk I had on my 1200 which had 3.9 installed and FFS partitions... although I add it on the Hard Drive config pages, no partitions are added nor is it visible on the AF2005 enviroment... am I doing something wrong?

Something is wrong, if the HD is visible in the
Hard drives -> Add Hard Drive... -> Hard drive: []

AFAIK it can't be hardware, the drive is recognized propperly in windoze and WinUAE :/
It must be bootable since You've used it in a real Amy...

Wrong configuration?

dunno why is this... look at the screenshot... I am not trying to boot from the HD...
could it be because I used a FastATA? the 1st partition is 2GB...
and should I check the Read/Write button?

I should have checked the read/write option... I thought it could break the hd so I left it unchecked...

Try to move it to the top of the list. Sometimes HDFs and HDDs are ignored if they don't appear at first in the list.

Interesting.. Can you email (or post here) winuaelog.txt with and without write-protection enabled?

Did you reboot before you tried without write-protection enabled? Maybe it needed second reboot for some weird reason..

You have to reboot whenever you change the HDD list (reboot the Amiga, not reboot Windows of course). As with a real computer, you cannot add or remove a HDD without rebooting afterwards.

Nope, I said winuaelog.txt, not winuaebootlog.txt

Maybe Windows decided to "adjust" the RDB block (but only 98/ME-based Windows versions will do that) and WinUAE tried to fix it automatically but failed until writing was enabled?
