Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

Not in HOL, so I guess you don't know about it yet. There's a scan of the back of the box at mobygames:

http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/st...CoverId,58520/

The third screenshot says "AMIGA", though I'm pretty sure that there never was an Amiga version. Maybe it's worth some research, especially because if that screenshot is really from the Amiga version, it was probably not only planned but done - just not released.

Just saw this myself today, also the screenshot it showed seemed familiar...think it may even have been previewed in a magazine once?

Does anyone have any more info on this?

here is a snippet from page 113.
the full Joystick issue 03 1990 you can find at abandonware-magazines.org.

#1) found translation:
deja testé sur pc dans joystick no 2
already tested on pc in joystick # 2

pour ma part je préfèrerais ceux de la première version
for my part I would prefer the first version

so he may have played an amiga version.

I don't know, the "I would prefer the first version" part could be and is more likely to be about the PC version, there was several PC versions by the looks of it.

For what it's worth, the "Amiga" screenshot on the MobyGames box scan is definitely using 1.x-era Topaz. Not a definitive proof of it being an Amiga version (as I have seen both versions of Topaz pop up in software for other systems), but it's a nice data point suggesting that it may very well have been an Amiga build.

Unfortunately, it was programmed by Level Systems who it seems programmed 3 games for various computers all in 1989 and then dissapeared..They programmed Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for the Amiga so assuming that info is correct then it increases the chance they created an Amiga version of Star Trek V..But there's just no info about them..The HOL credits for Indy: ToD are sadly blank.

I can find no reference to a Amiga version, but according to THIS link there was also supposed to be a NES version on cartridge that was never released.
I suppose the Amiga version was axed at the same time.

A rom of the prototype NES cartridge exists although I've not tried it myself to see if it is actually the same game. The link you mention also says that the NES version was completed just not published. Joker magazine seems to go even further and suggest that apart from an Amiga version there was meant to be an ST version as well.

Yeah, looks like a few systems was planned to have a release but in the end all got axed except the PC version. Shame really, I suppose it was either a lack of funds that caused the dropped systems, or more likely it was the publishers decision to only support the PC. Either way, unless someone who was involved pops in and tells what happened I don't think we'll know for sure.
But I bet there is a unpublished Amiga version out there somewhere, and other systems too. Someone will have the source code somewhere!

I shall inquire if a HOL page with the information is in order.

Edit: The HOL page for the game https://hol.abime.net/6958/miscshot
