Xbox 1 controller

When playing classic games on the xbox what controller do you use?

I’ve got a clone of the Microsoft XBOX S controller, it’s great for native xbox games but not perfect for Coinops etc - xbox controller D-Pads have never been any good, the 360 included.

Is there a good sensibly priced arcade stick option? I know about the super duper arcade stick (edit: the x-arcade) with all the adapters for different systems, looks very nice but it’s not cheap

. Not sure if I want to pay that much especially as the stick is on the wrong side

Personally I love the Xbox S Controllers d-pad. You can always get the x-arcade with xbox connector.

X-Arcade uses cheap China knockoffs, not real Arcade parts. Also I think the button layout is whacko.

There is a slight chance you might find one of these Street Fighter Anniversary Edition Arcade Sticks cheap and used somewhere: http://gear.ign.com/articles/684/684566p2.html.

It is ok with the stock knock-off parts, and you can always mod it later with Happ Parts, or better, an IL Eurostick and the Happ Convex Pushbuttons eg. from Lizardlick.

Or just use a playstation to xbox adapter and use any playstation Arcade stick...

I also love to use playstation controllers on the xbox, for emulation etc. I use the Gemini GGE818 adapter.

The X-Arcade is steep that's for sure and I've seen it getting slagged off in the arcade fighter forums for the stick and buttons not being very good.

There is a tempting option though, these guys sell modded x-arcades with top quality stick/buttons, and they're just up the road from me in Lancaster
