How do I get this rather stunning OS 4 to run on my 1200?

Im taking id need to upgrade bits to say the least?

Would I still be able to run A1200 type applications or is it not compatible?

You will have to buy an extremely expensive PPC card if you don't happen to own one already. OS4 runs 68k systemfriendly applications.

OS4.0 will run on an A1200 with a PPC accelerator. OS4.1 currently only runs on AmigaOnes and Sam440s as far as I know.

You'll never justifiably afford a Blizzard PPC.

Even the cheapest one (166MHz PPC with 68040) is roughly £200+ second hand.

Well, we are all individuals.

(One in the crowd goes, "I'm not!")

I'd gladly pay £200 for something to run the latest Archimedes OS and apps fast, for example!

Why not ? You can always boot from floppy disk. And you can have as many partitions on your HDD as you like, so there is no reason to throw away your OS 3.x installation, just to run 4.0.
