usb on classic amiga

without the use of a subway, is there such a thing as a serial to usb so a user can attatch a usb mouse to the serial port directly?

I've seen an X-Bay seller with a 30 - 40 USD device that says it will do this.

the mouse port on a 1200 is a serial port yes?

id like to attatch a smaller mouse, but only 1s i can find are usb, so without going down the subway route, i was wondering if there was an adapter that would let me do this ...

The mouse port isn't a serial port. What you could get is a PS/2 adapter; while mice with PS/2 support are getting a bit uncommon, they are still pretty easily available (Logitech etc.)

Micromys plus usb-to-ps/2 adapter, that and a Logitech mouse is what I'm using. Micromys is awesome, have got a cocolino as well but it doesn't work as well as the micromys imo!

If you want to go N-Ed's way then make sure the mouse comes with the USB to ps/2 adapter. Otherwise may not work. These are special
