Thanks for the scans!

We add contribution points when the images are processed, which means it can take a couple of days.

I don't suppose you managed to do 300dpi scans of these did you Marc? Even better, I don't suppose you did the sides too?

Everything

Seriously though, I just thought seeing as you were doing cover scans for HOL... Doing the sides wouldn't be much more effort?

Anyway, new version of the scanning guide will be available in the next few days...

ok guys!

what about this:
everytime i scan a game box for my page, i will do it in 300dpi. these scans can be distributed to caps and/or hol if needed, ok!?

since i am quite busy, i can't make scans of all disks and manuals. sorry, but even scanning the boxes is actually more than i could/should afford... and hey! there are so many people who threw away the boxes and kept their disks and manuals, they also want to be able to contribute
of course, i am willing to help if you lack a certain part for another release!

but please fiath, i will post new scans in this thread. so you can tell me which of them you want. my amiga games and scanner are at my parent's house. there is only 64kb/s isdn, so uploading 10's of mb is useless, if caps already has scans of the game! (and no, i can't afford another cd-writer right now... )

btw, i thought that christian has already scanned thousands of games...?

Great! Though maybe you want to put reduced ones on your pages if it gets any more popular.

I understand, it is the same for myself most of the time. No problem.

Yes, that is fine! I will download them from the HOL FTP if that is okay with RCK et all, + having sides in there.

Yes, he has, but only front/back AFAIK - not sides like you are doing for your 3D boxes page and what we are doing for C.A.P.S.

I just thought if you are doing them anyway, doing at 300dpi wouldn't be much more effort?

they are already small and will remain small. they are each 480px max. i only have 15mb webspace right now and it would take too long to load for users with modems.

that would be fine for me! so i need to upload only once. please ask rck how we can do it. i could upload all sides, you could download them and rck could delete the sides and keep front and back.

as i said before, from now on i will scan with 300dpi and upload my scans!

Walker, what about my 153 uploads from the other day? Are you guys ignoring me because of that vicious rumor that I play 3D games?

Sorry, haven't had any time to process them yet. They should be in HOL this weekend.

Twistin wants to put them in the "Black List" folder because of the 3D thing, but we'll try to talk him out of it.

Hehehe...you guys!

Yeah, this week (and last) have been monstrously busy for me. Rarely do I ever get in on the Contributors conversions (because I am too elite for that...lol!), but I mamaged to squeeze in the time to log on and see what was in that folder. Had me drooling. Since I am off work today, I want to find the time to leech them for my own evil purposes. And because, as the commercials say, "If it's from DPainter, it HAS to be good..." Or was that Smuckers?

I doubt most of our multi-national audience gets the Smuckers reference, so I'd change it to "If it's from DPainter, it HAS to be really old, a little dirty and not scanned perfectly straight..."

Hehehe...yeah, I had a pretty good hunch only us yanks would get the Smuckers bit (especially with its Americana ad campaigns), but I figured if I had to waddle through countless Ali-G, World Cup, etc. messages, that I could over-extend myself for a bit of American culture.

Not surprisingly, I didn't manage to log on and download on my day off (despite the fact that I only slept 1.5 hours since then...clocking in a grand total of about 8 hours for the week). I really need to get involved in a time management regimen...
