- Can .raw files be converted to IPF format

- Can i in any way play these games in my Amiga

If answer is no... is there any plans to try to make this possible?

Thanks
Yes most of this is possible, at least with the HxC firmware.
If you have the IPF files, just convert them to HFEv3 with the HxC software.

If you have only KryoFlux Raw files or SCP files, convert them with the HxC software to HFEv3.

Is it an diymore.cc screen ?
If yes have a look to this :
http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewt...diymore#p17196

If no, have you use the right firmware into the "Next_WIP_Alpha_Firmware_And_Tools" folder ?
(Version is currently HXCFEUSB_V3_1_6_0a.UPD)

btw if you want a fast support, i recommend you the hxc gotek forum :

or the facebook group :

or my email :
hxc2001 <at> hxc2001.com

i am not visiting often enough the others forums to make a proper support on them.

Thanks Jeff ! Direct Access mode was a little slow before and this is very useful : no need to pack files in a adf for transfers.

Did you have tested it with one Amiga transfer software ? Is it faster for you ?
I ask because i have just tested the file selector on Amiga.
Most of the tests have be done on Atari ST with hxcmount.

Firmware update ! :

18 March 2018: Firmware STM32 USB HxCFloppyEmulator v3.1.21.1a

- Indexed mode : Ignore file extension. You can now use any file extension
as long as the file is supported by the floppy emulation engine.
(Can be DSKA0000.HFE/IMG/DSK/ADF/ADL...)

- Acorn machines (*.ADL, *.ADM, *.ADF):
Sectors gap, interleave and tracks skew aligned to the real machine.

Hi Jeff,

In fact i was presuming that it will improve speed but i had not tested when i post my message.
I'm talking about this tool based on your HXCFE_Amiga_file_selector:
https://github.com/gonk23/HXCFE_Amiga_copy_utility

Now i have tested it: bad news is that it doesn't work anymore. Just before updating the FW, i used it successfully and i have monitored the time to transfer a LHA file from USB to RAM: with FW v3.0.32.3a => 278 Ko in 1m50.

With FW v3.1.20.1a, when i launch the cmd : "hxcfe dir", my LCD displays LBA direct access and then the computer freeze or displays an error message something like "LBA change".

My config : real A500, KS 3.1, 1MB Chip, 6MB fast, CF HDD.

Ok i will check this. Anyway i think that this utility need a serious rework. 1m50 is a way too long . i will probably work on this.
Btw can you check that the file selector is working properly for you ?

Yeah this utility is very usefull because i can transfer files directly from usb but SLOW!... if you can improve it, i say yes for sure and can test it.

About testing the file selector, i've just updated to FW v3.1.21.1a and i tested the file selector 1.65a. i've launched a couple of games/demos it's ok!.
I have just faced an issue if i open the file selector in WB, i have this:
error:lba change test failed write issue? (don't know if it's a clue, it was the same error message for the "slow" utility we are dissussing)

And this is not good, so here is the fix :

Firmware update ! :

Quote:
19 March 2018: Firmware STM32 USB HxCFloppyEmulator v3.1.21.2a

- USB Direct Access mode code : Index gap increased
(Amiga File selector & HxC copy utility under WB fix)

http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...a_firmware.zip

http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_d...ease_notes.txt

Let me know if this also solve the issue with the copy utility.

I just tried the same thing with hxcmount on Atari ST and the last firmware :

File size : 340KB
READ TIME : 22 seconds
WRITE TIME : 25 seconds

This show what can be done on Amiga too.

I haven't try the Amiga copy utility yet but i don't think that you can have such read/write performance without redesigning it, even with the latest optimized firmware.

tested and working for file selector in WB and for the transfer utility, thanks ! and you're right about performance of the tool, it's not optimized : exaclty same time to transfer the file.
