In fact, maybe it is worth starting a suggestion thread because HOL, as good as it is, has a few shortcomings.

No being able to select 'no conversion hardware' or to select multiple conversion hardware is one.
One would expect that, for example, by using this (based on the syntax you get when using multiple search criteria):

you could get a workaround. But that does not work.

The same holds true for some searches such as looking for games for which two or more artists have been involved (which I believe is something that would be interesting for some people).

Also, a OR operator would not be bad. For instance, when looking for a game you don't remember the year exactly but could get an era defined (i.e. 1990 OR 1991 OR 1992).
Lemon has 'release year': 1) is 2) before 3) after.

However, I am not sure if the 'limitations' are 1) by design (limiting the load on the database) or 2) more simply that nobody thought these could be asked or 3) an inherent limitation of the database software.

If it is possible, maybe an advanced advanced search with even more options could be offered?

You can't think how often I wished for a 'is not' or 'and' option
On a serious note : Since I'm pretty sure that the search criteria are used to filter a DB query, it shouldn't be too hard to hard to expand them.
