I cant work this alone, history proves numbers do matter, we should make a formal petition, in EAB´s good name, im not sure how that could be acomplished, but we should unleash the hords of amiga users.
In fact not only EAB, but Lemmon and any other "lost" Amiga comunities could participate in this petition. "DCE! Make all Amiga hardware schematics and rom programming available for public use!" Advices are welcome! Last edited by Yoto; 19 February 2009 at 15:46. |

You need to word it so that it is you doing them a favour. "Are you fed up of all these enquiries about old Amiga designs?" "Proud of your history and technical achievements past and present?" "Want to present you fine work to the Audience in a way it is clear that these designs are no-longer produced, sold or serviced?" "Allow our team of volunteer engineers and web designers create you a dedicated portfolio of your work including schematics, and source code" Last edited by alexh; 19 February 2009 at 16:54. |

Your right alexh, as always ...but i´m afraid my linguistic skills in your mother tongue are not that high. I wouldnt know where to start...
Viddi already posted that Thomas Dellert seemd to be in some kind of "huff", maybe there are some other people that own other precious schematics, like the ones from Apollo boards. And maybe those people dont even have a clue how large the Amiga community is.Maybe they just put their plans aside because they think no one really care any more. I fell something must, or could be done about it. |

I would get it translated by a native German.
Quote:
"Hello, I am writing to DCE on behalf of myself and potentially all Amiga Users around the world." Quote:
"It is my understanding that DCE designed and built of several of the greatest Amiga hardware accessories of their time, including manufacturing the products of the now defunct company "Phase 5"? Does DCE still own the intellectual property for these products?" Quote:
Quote:
"I am interested in opening a dialog which might result in preserving the technical information on how and by whom the DCE/Phase 5 products were created and functioned. Is low level information about these products still stored at DCE?" Quote:
"If the information is available I would like to discuss allowing myself to preserve and publish the data under a non profit license so that Amiga users can learn more about the history of their equipment. Possibly even make their own repairs or upgrades that might ensure DCE built equipment continues to be used well into the 21st Century". Quote:
"I hope that you would be interested and we can discuss details. Yours Sincerely.... <your name>" Even with my input I think you'd need to fine tune it a bit more so as to not be too needy and at the same time be positive. |

Your input is precious alexh, thank you, as i already suspected, i may not be the most suited person to handle the possible negotiations, a lot is at stake here, the wrong arguments and the window of oportunitie may be forever shut.
The community deserves better than that. |

Sorry but I am not really that interested. You need a native German speaker Amiga enthusiast which knows a little about hardware.
I'll pre-read and give suggestions to anyone who wants to write to them. I personally feel that you're on a loosing cause |

keep up the good work Yotoxionomai and don`t be scared to act alone
Thank you alexh for your suggestions I for 1 would not be able to word a letter in this way, being crap at english I think like alexh said the first move is to open up a dialog with them finding out who owns what and such like and I`m sure we can find a german speaker round here to help (TCD) hehehehe |

We have your wives and children. They are safe and well eating Baxers soup, bread, wine and water. In return for their safe return to you, we, the Amiga community demand all of your retired Amiga products be put onto the production line once again. Yours sincerely, Bill McEwen hey, I found a use for Bill |
